Rs 250 cr for Pawan Kalyan's OG, highest in his career
Undeniably, ace producer DVV Danayya is becoming a master of big budget flicks in Telugu cinema. After pumping in more than Rs 500 crores on his last blockbuster ‘RRR”, the daring producer is reportedly going to invest Rs 250 crores in his upcoming film ‘OG’ with reigning star Pawan Kalyan to be directed by Sujeeth of ‘Saaho’ fame. “Dannayya doesn’t mind spending lavishly if the script demands it. He has gained enough stature and respect after ‘RRR’ and even his next film will be made with half of that budget,” says a source.
Billed to be an action entertainer, the makers claimed in an earlier teaser that ‘they call him OG” with bullets, guns and grenades strewn all over and also announced the arrival of ‘firestorm’ and it surely looks to be an action extravaganza. The movie was shot in Mumbai and other places recently. “Pawan has a huge fan following who love to watch him in anger-driven roles. Along with fans, action films draw the interest of Hindi distributors. Hence, the producer could recover a chunk of his investment from it since Sujeeth has also made a Hindi film ‘Saaho," the source added.
Although Pawan Kalyan has other big films like ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh,’ Hari Hara Veera Mallu’ and “Bro’ at various stages of production, it looks like ‘OG’ will be the costliest film in his career till date.
