Will Anil Kapoor play Kalam in biopic?
The season of biopics continues in Tollywood! A slew of them have already been announced, and the latest to join this league in Telugu cinema is a biopic on the former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Apparently, producers Abhishek Agarwal and Anil Sunkara have been planning to make the biopic for a while. While the hunt for the protagonist has been on for quite some time, we recently learnt that Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor was approached to reprise the role.
While the director of the film is yet to be decided, Raj Chengappa who has penned the book, Weapons of Peace: The Secret Story of India’s Quest to be a Nuclear Power, is reportedly working as the script consultant for the project.
A source informs, “The producers met Anil Kapoor for a narration recently. The actor was excited with the subject and a look test might happen soon, after which the actor will take a final call.”
Interestingly, Anil Kapoor debuted as a lead actor in 1980 with the Telugu film, Vamsa Vruksham directed by Bapu.
