Boyapati Sreenu Confirms Akhanda Sequel
Leading director Boyapati Sreenu, who made the blockbuster film 'Akhanda' with Nandamuri Balakrishna, announced that he would make a sequel for his action adventure. "Akanda 2' is very much on cards, and we are working on it," said the director at a film event. "Balakrishna has a powerful personality who can carry off larger-than-life roles with ease, which very few could do in Tollywood," he adds. He praised the professional discipline and hard work of the scion of the Nandamuri family and expressed interest in joining hands with him once again.
Actually, the combination of Balakrishna-Boyapati has delivered blockbusters like 'Simha,' Legend' and Akhanda' to score a hat-trick of hits to be hailed as a heady combination. "We forget about our previous films and begin our new film with the same zeal and vigour, and Boyapati knows the pulse of the masses," said Balakrishna.
Undoubtedly, 'Akhanda' showcased Balakrishna in a new avatar as a fiery Aghora who preaches the relevance of Hinduism and Hindu temples and also punishes evil-doers mercilessly. He played dual roles in the film, but his fans and audience liked him as the staunch devotee of Lord Shiva and made it a big winner, despite an overdose of action.
