Actor Kasi Viswanath made his debut as a director with the super hit film Nuvvu Leka Nenu Lenu (2002) and went on to direct the debut film of Nandamuri Kalyanram in 2003. However, after these two films, Viswanath did not direct any film, although he had a few scripts ready.
“When I was in Annavaram, director Ravi Babu called me for a father’s role. He narrated the scene and asked me to do it. I used my experience as a director to do that scene and it turned out to be good,” recalls Viswanath. He made his acting debut in 2008 and has completed 100 films till now. “The upcoming film, Vaisakham is my 100th film as an actor,” he says.
In most of the films, Viswanath has acted as father to the lead actress. “I have played father to all the leading actresses of the present time,” he says. He adds that though he wants to come back to direction, actor Balakrishna advised him to continue as an actor. “He told me that acting is not our choice, but God’s gift. So I decided to continue as an actor,” he says.
