Apparently, Rajamouli’s forthcoming film, RRR, which is currently ongoing in Hyderabad and stars actors Ram Charan and Jr NTR, is heading for an October release. We hear that the maverick filmmaker plans to release the action-drama during the Dasara season.
Coincidentally, we also hear that the filmmakers of Prabhas’ upcoming yet-untitled film are also eying an October release.
Apparently, there are strong chances that the period romantic-drama, which is being directed by Radhakrishna (of Jil fame), might hit the screens during Dasara to cash in on the festive season. “Given the cast and the big names involved in both the projects, filmmakers of both the films are planning for a pan-India release, which is one of the effective ways of recovering the humongous costs involved,” a trade analyst informs us.
However, another trade source says, “While it is going to be very exciting to witness a box office clash between Prabhas and Rajamouli, both of whom delivered the Baahubali success together, it remains to be seen if either of them will back out here.”
However, both the above sources agree that to achieve that windfall, the filmmakers of both the films need to ensure that there are no big Bollywood releases around the same time.
