The Akhil-starrer Agent opened to poor word of mouth and bad reviews on Friday. The film has been declared a ‘box office dud’. Although Akhil excelled in his role, Surender Reddy was criticised for sloppy direction and Vakkantham Vamsi for poor writing.
The filmmakers were trolled for going into overdrive for publicity. Many even drew parallels between Agent and Vijay Deverakonda’s Liger, released last year, which was also a box office disaster. Meanwhile, Akhil’s mother Amala has sprung to the defence of the actor and the Agent team.
While slamming the trolls, she commended the hard work put in by the team. Given that Agent is not Akhil’s first film, Amala’s defence shows how a mother will not tolerate mean comments on her child.
