Original names and party flags cause concern for Vyooham?
With the Telangana High Court halting the release of political potboiler ‘Vyooham’ on December 29, a leading Telugu director claims that ace director Ram Gopal Varma has to make a few things to overcome legal and censor hurdles. “Films are supposed to be fictional and should be made with fictitious names,” he says and adds, “Censor Board rules are quite stern about avoiding original names of real-life persons and original flags of various parties being used in a film,” he adds
With the names of former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Lokesh along with star-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan and Sonia Gandhi prominently used in the film, the political thriller 'Vyooham' has to overcome a few more hurdles before hitting the theatres next month. “Actually, the producer readied another version by removing original names but they couldn’t get a slot for certification due to the heavy rush of Sankranthi movies. So, they have to wait for some more time before censor board members spare time to watch their new version," he adds.
Nonetheless, Ram Gopal Varma managed to sustain the interest around his film in various ways and triggering enough hype. However, he has to wait for some more time for the audience's reaction to his hard-hitting political drama revolving around the life of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and showcasing his trials and tribulations.
