After a lot of speculation, confessions and revelations, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha finally got engaged in a private ceremony at a convention centre in Hyderabad on Sunday. The couple had a double engagement, held in both the Hindu and Christian traditions.
Moments after the ceremony, Nagarjuna posted photos from the evening and wrote: “It’s official now. My mother is my daughter now. Couldn’t be happier!! (sic),” posted the actor, referring to the movie Manam, in which Samantha played his mother. “Can’t express my happiness in words!! (sic),” he wrote in another post. The event was a complete family affair as actor Sumanth, Chaitanya’s first cousin wrote: “All my love to #ChaiSam on their engagement. Our families had the most unforgettable time celebrating yesterday (sic).”
Rana Daggubati, Venkatesh, Sumanth and Sushant — the entire actor brigade from the family marked their attendance at the event. The engagement was followed by a party where the guests danced till the wee hours of the night. And soon, photos from the ceremony and the party started doing the rounds online. Netizens went into a tizzy as they drew parallels with the couple’s first film together, Ye Maaya Chesave.
