While Ram Charan ended 2016 on a high note with Dhruva, Chiranjeevi gave 2017 an impetus with the stupendous success of his comeback film Khaidi No. 150. It looks like the mega heroes are set to take the centre stage for a while now with several releases lined up.
Sai Dharam Tej’s Winner is also set to release in February, and Pawan Kalyan, Allu Arjun and Varun Tej will all come into the fray by midsummer.
Pawan Kalyan’s Katamarayudu, the remake of Tamil film Veeram, slated for an Ugadi release on March 29 marks the start of these summer releases. The film directed by Dolly (Kishore Kumar Pardasani) stars Shruti Haasan as the female lead. Pawan will be seen in a rural avatar. Another upcoming movie is Allu Arjun’s Duvvada Jagann-adham helmed by Harish Shankar which is likely to release in May. The movie will show the actor in a never-seen-before role of a traditional Brahmin guy. It is touted to be a complete entertainer.
Also coming up is Srinu Vaitla’s Mister starring Varun Tej, who will dabble in comedy sfor the first time. Starring Lavanya Tripathi and Hebah Patel, the film is set to release in April or May. With so much happening in the family, the first half of the year offers a lot to film buffs.
