Undoubtedly, the fascination for re-releasing cult movies is surely catching up in T-town. On one hand, big movies of stars like Pawan Kalyan (Tholi Prema) and Mahesh Babu (Okkadu) returned to enthrall their fans, on the other, a new-age fun movie ‘Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi” also minted Rs 70-odd lakhs and its screens are expanded to cash in on it right now.
Among all this, sensational star Vijaya Deverakonda’s much-hyped ‘Pelli Choopulu’ is also going to join the race to enthrall his huge fan following. “I am thinking about re-releasing our film ‘Pelli Choopulu’ but I am definitely not in a hurry,” says producer Raj Kandukuri, who bagged national awards and also minted money at the box office in 2016.
Usually, re-releases of small films get 60 to 70 theatres, while big budget flicks are released in 200 to 250 theatres, keeping up with the craze of that particular star. “Vijay Devarakonda's following is growing in leaps and bounds. Hence, I am looking for a proper timing wherein our film gets time to run for at least two or three weeks in a good number of theatres. We are just waiting for a vacant season,” he concludes.
