No Gopala Gopala Sequel For Telugu Audience
Popular Telugu director Dolly, alias Kishore Kumar Pardasani, remade Hindi film ‘OMG’ as ‘Gopala Gopala’ with two biggest Tollywood stars—Pawan Kalyan and Venkatesh to taste massive box office success in 2015.
He also thought of remaking the sequel 'OMG 2', but has now dropped his plans, despite the sequel being a sensational hit. “It is true that we thought of remaking OMG 2 in Telugu, but later we dropped the idea since we felt that theme was a bit bold for Telugu audience,” says Dolly and adds, "No doubt, OMG 2 was a wonderful film and touches upon the relevant topic of sex education among school children. With kids getting easy access to mobiles and tabs, it has become difficult for parents to control them. Parents have to guide them and schools should also join in. They should alert children on safe sex and adverse consequences for sexual activities."
He also heaped praises on B-town stars Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi for their sterling performances. “Even the introduction of Lord Shiva in the film was fantastic,” he adds.
But he claims that his film ‘Gopala Gopala’ minted gold at the box office because Telugu audiences lapped up the unusual bonhomie between Lord Krishna (Pawan Kalyan) and an atheist (Venkatesh). “Pawan and Venkatesh did a great job and the theme of god-belief was a universal one. Exposing fake godmen and celebrating humanism struck a chord with Telugu masses and it turned out to be a big winner," he points out.
Hence, the huge fan following of Pawan Kalyan have to wait for some more time to watch their matinee idol in godly avatar, albeit he was seen as God of Time in recent release 'Bro'.
