Kushi is gearing up for release. The film is directed by Shiva Nirvana of Majili fame and stars Samantha and Vijay Deverakonda in lead roles. The film is a family drama and is one of the hugely awaited Telugu movies.
Both the lead actors are doing extensive promotions for Kushi. Samantha, who's flown off to the US for medical treatment is doing her bit to promote the film virtually. On the other hand, Vijay Deverakonda even did a online chat with his fans to keep the buzz around the movie alive. Vijay Deverakonda has been giving extensive interviews to media raving about the director as well his co-star Samantha. He also did a knock knock joke gig on social media with Samantha.
Now, talking about the movie's fortunes at the box office, with the kind of buzz around Kushi, the film should easily rake in decent numbers. With two big stars and all the hype around the movie and the songs which are already topping the charts, trade pundits are hoping that Kushi will rake in at least 3-4 crores on day 1. This is the second time the director has joined hands with Samantha. Shiva Nirvana's career best hit Majili (which starred Sam), had collected 2 crore plus in AP/Telangana alone.
Talking about Vijay Deverakonda's box office power, his career best was Geetha Govindam with Rashmika which earned 50 crore plus at the box office while his cult hit Arjun Reddy raked in a whopping 20 crores. Pelli Choopulu, which gave visibility to Vijay had collected close to 15 crores by t he end of its theatrical run.
The trailer and teaser looks promising and the chemistry between Samantha and Vijay is great. Let's see if this is enough to draw in crowds to theatres.
