After flops, Ravi Teja, Ram Pothineni to regain glory?

If seasoned star Ravi Teja delivered flops like ‘Tiger Nageshwar Rao' and ‘Eagle, hotshot Ram Pothineni also delivered big flops like ‘Warrior’ and ‘Skanda’ and both the actors are looking to make a comeback this season. “Ram Pothineni is banking on sequel ‘Double iSmart’ since his earlier film ‘iSmart Shankar’ was a money spinner. His teaming up with Puri Jagannadh also triggered hype around the movie and business was good enough,” says a distributor. Similarly, Ravi Teja who is reeling under duds like ‘Tiger Nageshwar Rao’ and ‘Eagle’ is betting big on the ‘Mr Bachchan’ and he is happy to reunite with director Harris Shankar who has dished out hits like ‘Mirapakai’ in the past,” he adds.

Ravi Teja is banking on the remake of Hindi film ‘Raid’, while Ram Pothineni is hoping that his sequel would recreate the magic at the box office. “More than Rs 45 crores on riding on these two stars in two Telugu states this Independence Day. Distributors are hoping that that star-studded movie would bring the audience back to theatres and recover their money,” he points out. Of course, Ravi Teja had big hits like ‘Dhamaka’ while Ram had tasted success with ‘Hyper’ and both are hailed as action heroes who also do romance on screen. “Being younger, Ram has the advantage to play a lover boy on screen and then turn a killer, while Ravi Teja also shored up romance part in his upcoming film with Bhagyashree Borse and danced to foot-tapping numbers to give tough fight to Ram Pothinnei’s racy numbers in ‘Double iSmart’,” he adds.

Besides seasoned star Puri Jagannadh is also clashing with his erstwhile assistant turned happening director Harris Shankar and we have to see who has an upper hand and revive their fortunes. “Directors clash is also quite interesting to watch out for,” he concludes.
