Aavesham to be remade in Telugu with?

Fahadh Faasil's film Aavesham became a major success this year sparking rumors about a possible Telugu remake with Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role. However it appears that Balakrishna has turned down the opportunity.

According to a reports Balakrishna opted out of the Aavesham remake because he prefers not to play dark or negative characters. A source explained that Balakrishna believes a hero should portray positive and inspiring roles rather than those with a villainous streak.

Additionally it's reported that no formal discussions about the remake had taken place and Balakrishna is currently occupied with several other film projects. Notably this isn't the first time the actor has declined a role in a remake. He previously turned down the chance to star in the Telugu version of Jilla a film originally featuring Thalapathy Vijay and Mohanlal.

There were reports that Nandamuri Kalyan Ram was considering producing the Jilla remake with Balakrishna stepping into the role played by Mohanlal. However due to the character's negative traits Balakrishna decided against taking the part.

Aavesham features Fahadh Faasil as a gangster named Ranga. The story follows three teenagers who have just started college in Bengaluru. As they navigate their new environment they encounter trouble with senior students leading them to seek help from the local gangster Ranga for protection.

As the plot unfolds the gangster who initially helped them becomes a source of trouble creating a mix of comedic and emotional moments. Directed by Jithu Madhavan known for his work on Romancham the film boasts a strong ensemble cast including Sajin Gopu, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mithun Jai Shankar, Hipzster, Roshan Shahnavaz and Midhutty.

Released on April 11, 2024 Aavesham received high praise from critics particularly for Fahadh Faasil’s performance. The film not only garnered positive reviews but also became a blockbuster at the box office.

As for Nandamuri Balakrishna he is set to star in his upcoming film tentatively titled NBK109. This film directed by Bobby Kolli is expected to be an action-romantic entertainer.
