BTS Leaks Is A New Menace In Tollywood
The rise of AI has made it harder to distinguish between genuine leaks and fabricated content.

The leak culture surrounding big-ticket Telugu films has taken a worrying new turn, with AI-generated images and edited visuals now adding to producers’ growing concerns. While leaked stills and behind-the-scenes footage have long troubled filmmakers, the rise of AI has made it even harder to distinguish between genuine leaks and fabricated content.
The latest example involves Prabhas, where a viral image showing the actor in a traditional panche kattu look has been making waves on social media. In the widely circulated picture, Prabhas appears with long hair, stylish sunglasses, and a gun in hand, giving him a rugged yet classy appearance. Fans quickly praised the striking makeover, calling it one of the actor’s most unique looks.
However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the authenticity of the image. While some fans believe it may have leaked from a film set, others suspect it could be fan-made artwork created using AI or advanced editing tools.
This comes after another unexpected leak linked to Prabhas surfaced some time back. A video showing the actor in conversation with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga went viral online. In the clip, Prabhas appeared in a police uniform while filming near Kokapet in Hyderabad.
The concerns are understandable, especially after several recent incidents involving major Telugu projects. Producer Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili noted that behind-the-scenes leaks can significantly affect audience excitement around high-profile films.
His upcoming film Fauzi, starring Prabhas and directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, also suffered from leaked stills that spread rapidly online. One particular image featuring the actor in a lean and intense look from the 1940s-based period drama generated massive fan excitement, while reportedly frustrating the makers.
"We’re striving to give audiences the best experience, and these leaks bring down the morale of the team," Ravi Shankar reportedly said, adding that legal action could be taken against accounts sharing unauthorized material.
The issue is not restricted to Prabhas’ projects. Nani’s upcoming film The Paradise also faced a similar challenge after a scene from the sets surfaced online. Despite tight security measures, footage from the production found its way onto social media. Earlier, director Srikanth Odela had also reacted strongly after the film’s title leaked before its official announcement.
Similarly, another leak reportedly emerged from the sets of Ram Charan’s upcoming project, where a rehearsal song sequence featuring him and Shruti Haasan was secretly recorded and circulated online.
"We are taking the best possible precautions and constantly advising unit members to remain cautious. Yet sometimes things go out of hand," Ravi Shankar added.
With AI now entering the picture, the challenge for filmmakers is no longer just preventing leaks, but also dealing with digitally created content that can blur the line between reality and fabrication.
