Director Mallidi Vassishta Dismisses Vishwambhara Two-Part Rumours

With the rumours now dismissed, fans are hoping Vishwambhara will arrive as a single, grand fantasy spectacle featuring Chiranjeevi in a larger-than-life role.

Speculation surrounding a two-part release for Vishwambhara has finally been put to rest. Young director Mallidi Vassishta dismissed the rumours with a witty social media response. Reacting to online buzz about the film being split into two parts, he simply posted, “Oh really… is that true?” — clearly indicating that there is no truth to the speculation.

Earlier rumours suggesting that Vishwambhara would arrive in two installments had worried fans of Chiranjeevi, who felt the fantasy entertainer did not need an unnecessary split.

The film has been in production for a long time after its original January 2025 release plan was postponed due to extensive post-production work. Although the shoot has reportedly been completed, the VFX-heavy project is still undergoing complex visual effects and technical finishing work.

The makers are now eyeing a July or August 2026 theatrical release, joining the list of big-budget Telugu films delayed due to post-production demands.

The prolonged delay had triggered social media rumours claiming the makers were planning to release Part 1 first, followed by Part 2 within a few months. However, Vassishta’s latest response has now effectively ended the speculation.

Fans were particularly concerned that a two-part format without strong narrative justification could hurt the film critically and commercially. Many also feared that if the first part failed at the box office, the second installment could face delays or even cancellation, leaving the story incomplete.

With the rumours now dismissed, fans are hoping Vishwambhara will arrive as a single, grand fantasy spectacle featuring Chiranjeevi in a larger-than-life role.
