Hyderabad: Coolie shoot halted due to rains, Rajinikanth recovers from mild fever

Apart from affecting the daily life of Hyderabad citizens, incessant rains in the city of Pearl have also reportedly halted the shooting of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film ‘Coolie’. “After two days of shooting the unit took a break since they are unable to shoot in outdoor locales,’ says a source who adds, “Even Rajinikanth had mild fever due to severe cold conditions and stayed put in a star hotel until he recoups. The crew didn't want to take any chances and halted the work. The shooting is expected to resume after a week or two,” he adds. The much-hyped action film is being helmed by new-age maker Lokesh Kanagaraj.

At the age of 73, the superstar is set to portray a key role in the film. While the exact name of his character hasn’t been unveiled as of yet, Thalaiva’s glimpse from the film’s teaser has featured him portraying a quirky role, especially in terms of his rugged look and energetic vibe.

One of the other stars of South Cinema joining the bandwagon is Nagarjuna Akkineni. He would be essaying the role of Simon in the film. From the glimpse of his character reveals, the actor is seen essaying a fearless role, with an edgy appearance teasing the anticipated thrill of the film.

Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj has been among hits these days like ‘Khaidi’ and ‘Vikram’ which rocked the Telugu box office too and he is joining hands with Rajinikanth and expectations are soaring by the day.
