Amidst reports that Nandamuri Balakrishna insisted on removing the flexes and photos of Jr NTR at NTR Ghat a few days ago, it is learned that superstar Jr NTR has personally invested in building a life-size statue of his grandfather and legendary NTR at his birthplace Nimmakuru in Andhra Pradesh.
“We spent more than Rs 60 lakhs to erect a statue for thespian N.T.Rama Rao garu to honor a great personality,” says YSRCP MLA Kodali Nani, in a video being circulated on social media by NTR fans. "We together bought 20 acres of land in Nimmakuru and laid out gardens to place life-size statues of NTR and his wife Basavatarakam. We paid tributes to them by organizing a function with 10 lakh people by spending more than Rs 1 crore in 2003,” he adds.
He claims that Jr NTR gave Rs 40 lakhs for the same since he is a great admirer of legendary NTR. “We could have brought some properties at that time, but we preferred to pay homage to a great man like NTR. Besides, Jr NTR was all through with us and offered his full support,” he points out.
On the work front, Jr NTR is awaiting the release of his much-hyped film ‘Devara’ and he would be romancing Jhanvi Kapoor in the action-adventure. His stocks soared after a scintillating performance in ‘RRR’ which won him loads of appreciation across the world. He is also planning to do a film with Prashanth Neel who is basking in the success of “KGF series and ‘Salaar Part 1”.
