Manjummel Boys back in headlines for another reason
The recent Malayalam blockbuster Manjummel Boys directed by Chidambaram is now in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. A report by Manorama Online reveals that producers Soubin Shahir and Shawn Antony are accused of scamming the film's investor. They allegedly planned to cheat the investor and haven't spent their own money. The Kerala Police found that the initial Rs 7 crores provided by the investor hasn't been repaid. The producers sought anticipatory bail scheduled for May 29th.
Earlier the court instructed the police not to arrest them for a month and demanded a detailed investigative report. The producers promised a refund of Rs 7 crores and a 40% profit return which they didn't fulfill deceiving the investor. They claimed to have finished shooting when they approached the investor but only pre-production work was done.
