Nag Ashwin Tactfully Sidesteps ‘Kalki 2’ Questions, Hails Singeetham

The makers recently unveiled the film’s first song, Hello Bossuu but Nag Ashwin has kept his fans guessing about the status of the project.

Director Nag Ashwin tactfully avoided questions about his much-awaited project Kalki 2 during a recent event. When a journalist sought an update on the film, the filmmaker cleverly dodged the question, saying, “I can’t hear you, there’s too much noise in the auditorium.” His humorous response drew smiles, while keeping fans guessing about the status of the sequel.

Instead, Nag Ashwin shifted the spotlight to legendary filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao and his upcoming project Sing Geetham, which is set for release on June 11. The makers recently unveiled the film’s first song, Hello Bossuu.

Speaking at the song launch event, Nag Ashwin revealed that the track was originally removed from the film only because Singeetham wanted it that way.

"This is a very special occasion. We’re releasing a deleted song, and it has turned out really well. Singeetham always tries something different and has made a fun film. He and the entire team worked hard to bring one of his long-cherished dreams to life," Nag said.

He further revealed that Sing Geetham holds a special place for him as a producer.

"After Jathi Ratnalu, this is the film I’m producing. We made this for Singeetham as an expression of gratitude. He had been trying to make this project since before Pushpak. He even narrated it to Kamal Haasan at the time, but things didn’t materialize. I can’t reveal more now, but after the film releases, we may add the song later," he added.

The film’s promotional strategy also appears unconventional and intriguing. Releasing a deleted song as the first single suggests that the team is taking a creatively bold route to build curiosity around the project.
