Peddi vs Devara: Fan War Intensifies Over Box Office Numbers
The makers claim that the rural sports drama is steadily moving towards the ₹350-crore mark worldwide.

The box-office battle between Ram Charan's Peddi and Jr NTR's Devara has now escalated into a fierce social media war among fans.
Peddi, which released on June 4, 2026, has reportedly collected around ₹193 crore net in India within nine days. The makers claim that the rural sports drama is steadily moving towards the ₹350-crore mark worldwide.
However, Jr NTR fans are quick to point out that Devara concluded its theatrical run with an estimated worldwide gross of around ₹428 crore, giving it a significant lead in overall collections.
Ram Charan supporters argue that Peddi is outperforming Devara in several centres across the Telugu states. They claim the film has registered stronger multiplex occupancy in cities such as Hyderabad and Nizamabad while also sustaining collections for a longer period.
But Devara fans have an equally strong counterargument.
According to trade reports, Devara enjoyed a much bigger advantage in the Hindi market, Karnataka and North America. The film reportedly grossed around $3.79 million in North America on its opening day alone, whereas Peddi is said to have collected approximately $3.23 million in the territory after nine days of its run.
This overseas gap has become one of the biggest talking points in the ongoing debate.
Meanwhile, Peddi supporters insist that sustained theatrical performance and strong local collections matter more than a massive opening. On the other hand, Devara fans maintain that worldwide reach and lifetime earnings remain the ultimate indicators of a film's success.
As is often the case with high-profile star rivalries, the debate has moved beyond numbers. Both fan groups have accused each other of inflating collection figures, indulging in corporate bookings and resorting to self-purchase of tickets to boost occupancy figures.
With Peddi still running in theatres, the final verdict is yet to emerge. However, one thing is already clear: while Ram Charan and Jr NTR shared the screen as allies in RRR, their fans are currently engaged in one of Tollywood's most heated box-office battles.
A distributor, however, believes that Devara still holds the advantage."At this point, Devara is ahead of Peddi in some places. It also performed significantly better in North India, whereas Peddi has managed only around ₹11 crore from Hindi-speaking markets in its first week. Peddi needs a much stronger second week across several centres if it hopes to surpass Devara," the distributor concluded.
He further adds, "Fan wars may dominate social media discussions, trade analysts generally prefer to wait until a film completes its theatrical run before making definitive comparisons."
