Arshad Warsi, the actor, has recently taken to social media to air his views on Prabhas’s look in the upcoming movie Kalki 2898 AD directed by Nag Ashwin saying that he did not like how the superstar was dressed for this role. While appearing on Samdish‘s podcast, Warsi said that Amitabh Bachchan played Ashwatthama excellently in the film but Prabhas had a bad dress sense.
“Prabhas, why is he looking like a joker? Why am I so sad about it? Mad max yaar, I want Mel Gibson out there. Tumne usko kya bana diya yaar (What have you made him into?).” He added that some choices made by directors when it comes to character styling in such crucial roles are confusing sometimes.
Nevertheless, Kalki 2898 AD despite being criticized by Arshad has turned out to be a huge box office success. The film which came out 50 days ago has already raked in Rs1,042 crore globally with Rs767 crore being contributed only from India alone. It is set in a post-apocalyptic future and follows a group of people trying to save an unborn child named Kalki who according to myth is supposed to be Lord Vishnu reincarnated.
Moreover, legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan appear as well with Bachchan starring as Ashwatthama and Haasan portraying Supreme Yaskin. Sumati played by Deepika Padukone is pregnant having been told her child will be Kalki.
These comments have left fans and critiques including waiting for any possible response from filmmakers themselves.
