Spirit Team Dismisses Postponement Rumours, Reaffirms March 5, 2027 Release
Earlier in February, the makers dropped a new poster of the film, showing Vivek Oberoi in a never-before-seen avatar, commanding a powerful screen presence.

The makers of Spirit, starring Prabhas and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, have firmly denied rumours suggesting that the film has been postponed to December 2027.
The team has reiterated that March 5, 2027 remains the official release date promised by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who is also producing the film alongside T Series. Industry insiders say the filmmaker is deeply involved in every aspect of production planning and budgeting to ensure efficient execution on a massive scale.
Speculation about a delay began circulating after reports claimed that Prabhas had not allocated continuous dates for the film from January 2026 onwards. However, sources close to the project clarified that the scheduling was always designed in phases.
Initially, the plan was to complete nearly 30 percent of the film before summer. But with Fauzi facing delays, Prabhas reportedly decided to prioritise that project first. Once major portions of Fauzi are completed, the actor is expected to shift his focus fully to Spirit. At the same time, he also needs to allocate dates for Kalki 2898 AD Part 2, especially for portions requiring extensive VFX work.
Since Fauzi is already said to be 75 percent complete, the makers are confident that Prabhas’ bulk dates will become available within the next couple of months. In fact, the actor has reportedly already allotted a week from May 9 onwards for Spirit, primarily to supervise and prepare for the film’s high-octane action sequences before joining the shoot formally.
With the clarification from the production team, fans of Prabhas can now breathe easy, as Spirit continues to stay on track for its ambitious March 2027 release.
