Prashanth Neel Set to Dominate Tollywood: Poised to Challenge Top Telugu Directors
Action filmmaker Prashanth Neel is all set to rock in Tollywood since his next Telugu film with hotshot NTR jr has been launched yesterday and he is going to give tough competition to Telugu directors by few more big films. “After ‘KGF’, Kannada director Prashanth Neel has become sought after director in Tollywood since he is adept in delivering action adventures and hero worship pushed to next level with loads of action,” says a producer who adds, “Just few years ago, top Telugu stars urged producers to rope in Prashanth. They even assured producers that they would give dates immediately but he was selective,” he adds.
That was a craze for Prashanth who also met big stars like Ram Charan, NTR and Prabhas after ‘KGF’ and he was a new hope for Telugu stars to reach out to pan-Indian viewers. “He came to limelight after “KGF’ and he was darling of Telugu stars who hosted him and he became friends to a few big stars too,” he points out. Actually, Prashanth movies ride on over-the-top heroism who are fearless, daredevil and would make mincemeat of their opponents, albeit brutal at times, but still it worked with masses all over the world.
Now, Telugu action directors like Boyapati Srinu, Harris Shankar, Bobby, Gopichand Malineni and Koratala Siva to name a few would have a tough time since Prashanth has a unique narrative style where varied people sing praises of the hero in the movie, including a tea seller. “He succeeded Prabhas in ‘Salaar,’ now he is expected to repeat the magic with NTR as well,” he concludes.
