After making waves in Tollywood and Kollywood, glam diva Samantha is gearing up to debut in the Malayalam film industry. “She is in talks with Tamil director Gautam Menon who is planning to make a Malayalam movie. Samanatha has worked with Gautam in the blockbuster Telugu film ‘Yem Maaya Chesava’ and has a good rapport with the director,” says a source. She is reportedly replacing Nayantara in this gripping thriller and could allot dates sooner than later, since she also wants to test the waters in the Kerala film industry,’ he adds.
Earlier, her peer Anushka Shetty the queen bee of Tollywood is also doing her maiden Malayalam film “Kathanar’ which is touted to be a spooky film. Even Krithi Shetty is doing a Malayalam film ‘Ajayante Randam Moshanam’ since she wants to explore varied roles. “Telugu actresses are game for variety these days and doing a Malayalam film to enrich their acting skills since they have to deliver realistic performances,” he points out.
Meanwhile, Samantha has launched her production house and unveiled the first look from her film ‘Maa Inti Bangaram’. ‘She is picking up author-backed roles to showcase her acting repertoire since she has done enough movies with big stars and repeated herself,” he concludes.
