A day after her engagement to Naga Chaitanya, the actress Sobhita Dhulipala has decided to post on Instagram some never seen photos from their close engagement ceremony held on Thursday. With these pictures, Sobhita had written an emotional caption that described their relationship so well. In fact, when going through these images of the couple one can see moments of their relation and connection.
In her post, Sobhita shared a verse from the classical Tamil poetic work Kurunthogai, translated by A.K. Ramanujan: “What could my mother be to yours? What kin is my father to yours anyway? And how did you and I ever meet? But in love, our hearts are red earth and pouring rain: mingled beyond parting.”
The first photo in this set is a black and white shot of the couple sitting together on an ornate swing. Then, there is a snap where they are smiling for the camera while still on the swing. Yet another candid moment captures Sobhita trying not to laugh as Chay grins away from her gaze. Finally, the last image shows the newly-engaged duo happily posing for the camera.
For her engagement ceremony; Sobhita wore a peach-pink traditonal silk saree sourced from weaving communities in Andhra Pradesh. She wore traditional gold ornaments and adorned her hair with temple flower which is customary for women in South India. However; Naga Chaitanya chose to wear Manish Malhotra’s three piece ensemble consisting of Pattu pancha,, laalchi & Kanduva , which are typical men’s attires in Andhra Pradesh.
It took some time before Sobhita and Chay got engaged following a period of silent dating. It was only when Naga Chaitanya’s dad Nagarjuna released an official picture of them that people could believe they were together. Prior to their separation announced on Instagram in 2021 through a joint statement, Chay was married to Samantha Ruth Prabhu in 2017.
