Tollywood, undoubtedly, is the biggest of all film industries in the country and it makes a lot of films every year. With films like RRR and Pushpa, Telugu cinema has become famous globally. But here comes this unseen side of Tollywood which is slowly coming to light. Well, this is because of the people working in different departments.

For the last two days, a lot about Jani Master after a budding female choreographer has filed a complaint against him for sexual harassment. Jani's master, allegedly, is said to have asked her for sexual favours and that his wife had forced her to fulfil his demands. Key members of the Telugu Film Producer Council, in the recently held press meeting, said they are investigating the matter from all possible angles to get the truth out. Also, they mentioned that the girl has the support of the biggies in the industry.
Poonam Kaur on Trivikram yet again
In the middle of all the chaos came a tweet which went on to be a shock to many. Actress Poonam Kaur has claimed that she previously approached the Movie Artists Association (MAA) about the treatment she had received, only to be dismissed. Further, she questioned why MAA had not addressed her complaint against Trivikram Srinivas.
She wrote, "Had maa association taken complaint on Trivikram Srinivas, I and many wouldn't have had the political suffering, I was rather silently ignored, I had given a call and then complaint to the heads, I want industry bigwigs to question Director Trivikram."
Sri Reddy and her bitter truths
Back then in 2018, it was Sri Reddy who raised the voice against the dirt in the industry. She complained about many big names in the industry and even protested naked in front of the Film Chamber but none of the biggies from the industry came to her rescue. Amidst all the chaos, names of people like Ram Gopal Varma and other politicians came into the limelight as the issue, allegedly, had a political angle to it.
Sri Reddy's protest in 2018 has given scope for many dialogue artists to come out with their stories of exploitation in the Telugu film industry in the name of 'commitment contracts'. "Due to lack of support from the industry, no police complaints were filed," the association said.
The high-level committee in Tollywood is said to inquire into sexual harassment and gender discrimination set up in 2019 inquired into both these industries and gave recommendations in 2022. In light of the Justice Hema committee report on the Malayalam film industry, the association said the HLC report is also being discussed.
