Vijay Sethupathi declines to play father in RC 16?

Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi who is basking in the massive success of ‘Maharaja’, has reportedly declined to play the role of a father in hotshot Ram Charan’s upcoming film with director Buchi Babu. “Vijay Sethupathi told makers that he already played a father role in ‘Maharaja’ and also played ruthless father to Krithi Shetty in ‘Uppena’, so he didn’t want to typecast and declined the offer from Buchi Babu,” says a source from Chennai. “Vijay is quite clear about his choices and despite being offered big money, he wasn’t tempted and just thumbed it down since he wanted to do something different in Telugu and was waiting for it,” he adds.

Later, the makers reportedly roped in Kannada superstar Shivraj Kumar to play the all important role and he fits the bill too. "Shivaraj also has the stature to play significant roles and agreed to work with Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor and others,” he points out. He also claims that Vijay Sethupathi has delivered the biggest hit of his career with ‘Maharaja’ and would like to essay protagonist roles in the days to come. “Maharaja was a sensational hit even in Telugu and it has garnered more than Rs 10 crores which is highest for the actor and his fans among Telugus is also slowly rising,’ he adds.

Vijay Sethupathi made his debut in Telugu with ‘Uppena’ and showcased his acting brilliance as a ruthless feudal lord who is obsessed with caste system and would go to extend to protect his family pride.
