Vijay Sethupathi Reduces Pay After Blockbuster?

Hyderabad: It is quite interesting to note that Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi has resolved to take a pay cut after delivering one of the biggest hits of his career ‘Maharaja’. "Vijay Sethupathi's latest film ‘Maharaja’ has collected more than Rs 35 crores in Tamil Nadu and Rs 6 crores in two Telugu states but he has taken a shocking decision,” says a source. He claims that the ‘Vikram Vedha’ actor has resolved to be accessible to more producers and took a pay cut and wants to do films with good scripts. “He would charge Rs 10 crore as a hero, although there are many to pay him more after a blockbuster, yet he has resolved to reduce his remuneration,’ he adds.

Vijay Sethupathi also made his debut in Telugu with ‘Uppena’ and proved his acting caliber as a dreaded father who hates his daughter’s love. “Vijay Sethupathi also made his mark in Bollywood with films like ‘Farzi’ and 'Merry Christmas’ and has expanded his fan base," he adds.

Hope, Telugu stars take a leaf out of it and cut their remunerations since digital and Hindi dubbing rights rates have crashed. “Few Telugu stars can take a pay cut and help producers to make some money,” he concludes.
