Vijay Sethupathi's Maharaja Stands Tall, Rules Telugu Box Office
Hyderabad: After a brief lull for dubbed movies, Tamil star Vijaya Sethupathi drew in Telugu audiences in big numbers for his latest crime thriller ‘Maharaja’ and revived interest in dubbed movies in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. “The film has garnered over Rs 6 crores right now and still holding well at various theatres since Telugu audiences were impressed with terrific performances of Vijay Sethupathi and Anurag Kashyap and others,” says veteran producer N V Prasad who released the dark entertainer and minted money. “It is going to sustain in many centers and we are hoping that the gripping film would cross Rs 10 crore and more in the days to come since it could do well in the second week,“ he adds.
The crime drama was hailed for its innovative screenplay and this vigilante movie has a lot of emotional moments the father-daughter love and bonding turned out to be the emotional core of this movie. “Telugu audiences always supported novel themes from Tamil and Vijay Sethupathi has become a household among Telugu viewers these days,” he concludes.
N V Prasad last made ‘Godfather’ with megastar Chiranjeevi and is waiting for the right script to churn out big-ticket movies. He also tasted success with hit movies like 'Dhruva', 'Bheemli Kabadi Jattu' and 'Adavari Matalaku Arthale Verule' in the past.
