Taxi driver rapes Polish merchant
Lucknow: A 33-year-old Polish trader was allegedly raped by a cab driver who had offered her a ride while she was on her way to Delhi from Mathura.
The victim was accompanied by her two year-old-daughter. The woman, a devotee of Lord Krishna, said she was raped by the driver who offered her a lift on the Mathura-Delhi highway on the midnight of January 2.
An FIR has been registered with the Delhi police in the case. According to the victim, she fell unconsciousness, and realised that she had been sexually assaulted when she regained consciousness.
After regaining conciousness, the woman found herself on a bench outside the Nizammuddin railway station in south Delhi with her daughter crying beside her.
The victim, who lives in Mathura, told police that the cab driver had sprayed something on her face after which she lost conciousness.
On the basis of a medical examination which confirmed rape, the FIR was registered at Paharganj in central Delhi.
A police officer said the woman approached the Paharganj police station as she was told that many foreigners live in central Delhi. The Polish woman told the police that she works in the cloth export business, and often travelled to Delhi for work.
