Raghuveera Reddy asks JC Diwakar Reddy to go

The minister slammed dissident leaders for making remarks against HC.

Anantapur: Revenue minister N. Raghuveera Reddy made a scathing attack on dissident leaders who criticised the party high command.

He said that such leaders may leave the party without resorting to drama. Raghuveera Reddy was indirectly referring to senior Congressman J. C. Diwakar Reddy and other leaders who are planning to switch loyalties from the Congress.

Addressing a meeting on the occasion of the death anniversary of former MP Ananta Venkata Reddy at the DCC office here on Sunday, Raghuveera Reddy spat venom on the YSR Congress and Telugu Desam for not allowing the debate on State Reorganisation Bill-2013 in the state Assembly because both the parties wanted the state division for their political mileage.

Referring to a letter by the YSR Congress supporting the division, Reddy said, “YSRC had no base in Telangana. Hence he planned to grab at least 100 out of the 175 MLA seats in Seemandhra region, but acting against the division of the state.”

He also said that the Telugu Desam was indirectly supporting the division. Mr Raghuveera Reddy observed that allowing the debate would help to defeat the resolution in the Assembly, after conducting voting in 13 different clauses.

“This will help the Samaikyandhra agitation since the President could have a rethink on the State Reorganisation Bill-2013,” he said. Mr Reddy reiterated that the state would remain united.
He called on all the MLAs to take part in the debate to defeat the resolution.

While recalling the dissidence among the Congress leaders and the common people against the division, the minister lamented that Telugu Desam, Communist Party of India and the Communist Party Marxist had an alliance with the Telangana Rashtra Samiti in the 2004 elections, in favour of state division.

Minority welfare minister, S. Ahmadulla, District Congress Committee president Madhusudhan Guptha and MP Ananta Venkatrami Reddy were present at the meeting. They paid homage to former MP Ananta Venkata Reddy.
