Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan’s respective bodyguards Ravi and Shera may not necessarily be the best of friends, considering the long-standing cold war between their bosses, but the other day, at Mumbai’s Mehboob Studios in the posh suburb of Bandra, just a stone’s throw away from the Khan households, the two loyal security personnel put up a fine display of collaboration while making sure that the two Bollywood superstars did not meet.
Shah Rukh was shooting a promo for the Star Screen Awards on Floor No. 2 and Salman was on Floor No. 5 for the shoot of the annual Being Human calendar. The trouble began when the vanity vans of both actors were parked opposite each other. When Salman made his customary late entrance at 3 pm, he noticed his rival’s van and smirked. He then asked his staff to ensure that the offending van was moved, but in vain. Later, SRK walked out at 6 pm and had a similar reaction by giving his staff a piece of his mind.
Until late evening, both the Khans kept coming out to smoke but refused to acknowledge each other even though they were standing so close to each other. Of course, the sight of the media hovering about was all it took for them to scamper back into their vanity vans. Then it was up to the bodyguards to speak to each other consistently to ensure that their bosses were out of their vans at different times and wouldn’t be clicked together in the same frame.
It was just a few months ago that the two stars hugged at politician Baba Siddique’s Iftar party. Salman had said on the show Koffee with Karan that it was just a goodwill gesture on Id. Guess the two of them are back to ignoring each other as they have been since July 2008 when the big fight took place at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party.
