I always trust and believe the decision of my audiences: Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Maker
Director Anees Bazmee, a notable figure in the film industry with several hit films under his belt, admits to experiencing “Friday jitters” whenever his movies are released. His latest project, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, is set for a Diwali release on November 1, 2024, and will clash with another major release, Singham Again, directed by a rival filmmaker and featuring stars such as Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, and Salman Khan in cameo roles.
Bazmee addressed various questions regarding the competition between the two films, the release of his Ajay Devgn starrer Naam, which had been delayed, and the unequal sharing of theater screens.
When asked about his current state, Bazmee replied, “I have just finished Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3; bus Allah izzat rakh le. After this, I'll take a short break for at least ten days. There’s nothing new that I'm doing. Now, I’m just waiting for the release of BB3.”
He praised the chemistry between Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit, sharing, “Vidya fell while dancing on stage, and Madhuri's support was truly commendable. From this, you can imagine their on-screen chemistry in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Madhuri will elevate the film.”
Regarding “Friday jitters,” he said, “Those who claim they don’t feel it are lying. When your films succeed, there’s a sense of responsibility to meet audience expectations. I hope to live up to them. I work hard, leaving no stone unturned, and I trust the audience's judgment regarding the film's success.”
On the simultaneous release of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again, Bazmee commented, “Every film has its luck. While you can control your film, you can't control others. We are all friends, and both films are releasing during this festive season. The industry needs good films, and audiences should enjoy both.”
When asked about theater distribution, he stated, “I’m a creative person, and such discussions aren’t held with me. My focus is on delivering my creative work to the best of my abilities.”
Lastly, when questioned if he is an expensive director, he emphasised, “I ensure that essential expenses for shooting are met. I approach filmmaking systematically. I can create the same look for less money, as I know how to plan and edit efficiently. Wasting resources is not an option.”
