4 Seemandhra MPs begin fast
Hyderabad: Four Congress MPs from Seemandhra on Friday launched their two-day fast at Indira Park here, demanding that the Congress high command withdraw its decision to bifurcate the state, and appealed to all the Seemandhra MLAs to defeat the Telangana Bill on the floor of the House.
Lagadapati Rajagopal (Vijayawada), Sabbam Hari (Anakapalle), G.V. Harsha Kumar (Amalapuram) and Rayapati Sambasiva Rao (Guntur) participated in the “Sankalpa Deeksha”?at the Dharna Chowk, amidst much fan fare and slogans of “United AP” renting the air.
Former minister J.C. Diwakar Reddy has inagurated the deeksha sivir and hoped that the state will remain united because of the efforts by Seemandhra MPs.
Speaking on the occassion, the MPs vowed to fight for the United AP cause in the ensuing Parliament session, and if needed they will dislodge the UPA government by moving No-Confidence Motion again.
Several Seemandhra ministers and MLAs have visited the dharna sivir and expressed solidarity.
