- 23 police personnel have been hospitalised and many among them have suffered bullet injuries.

- As soon as the police started vacating the place, the protesters set afire gas cylinders and munition stored there which led to several explosions.
- 22 rioters were killed in the violence. These include 11 persons who were killed in a fire started by the agitators.
- The protestors in an attempt to stop the police took to violence. They pelted stones and attacked policemen with lathis as soon as they arrived to recce place for eviction of people from the disputed site.
- The incident took place when the police went to the site to warn the people inhabiting the area. However, the police were not apprised of the prevailing condition there.
