Singa-la-la!
Actor Meghana Gaonkar has had a very successful 2013, with a few of her Kannada films garnering a lot of appreciation from fans and critics. Meghana loves to travel and went recently to Singapore. She shares her travel experience.
I’m quite a shopaholic and for all those who love shopping, a walk down the Orchard Street is a must. The big brands, malls and even quaint boutiques are filled with the best of styles. It’s truly a shopping Mecca and since it’s so close to India, it’s the best place to make shopping trips to refresh your wardrobe. I loved the New York shopping boulevard and bought a lot of amazing clothes, different flavoured teas and also lots of make up and accessories and my favourite – shoes in different styles.
Also, I’m a foodie and wherever I travel, I like to try the local cuisine. I tried to explore most of the recommended restaurants in Singapore for the best of pan-Asian cuisine. But I also found an amazing Italian restaurant there called Otto and the Burrata cheese with rocket salad was to die for.
I also like to marvel at interesting architecture and what better place than Singapore with its various skyscrapers and futuristic designs. Every structure there was a masterpiece in itself.
I went to the Marina Bay Sands roof top infinity swimming pool and the view of the city is spectacular from there. I also went to the Universal Studios, Jurong Bird Park, Zoo and Sentosa and have brought back many souvenirs and memories.
