WE Hub inks MoU with Women in Tech® India to promote girls and women in technology

Hyderabad: WE Hub, India’s first state-led incubator to foster and promote women entrepreneurship set up by Telangana Government, has announced its partnership with Women In Tech India, to encourage and support girl students in STEM and women startups in technology.

An MoU was inked by Sita Pallacholla, CEO, WE Hub, Telangana and Radhika Iyengar, Country Director, Women In Tech® India. The two parties have agreed to collaborate for conducting capacity building and entrepreneurship programs aimed at enabling girls and women in the area of technology education and business, in the state of Telangana. The MOU enables WE Hub and Women In Tech India to tap into each other’s network and resources to further 2 key programs for achieving shared goals.
The WE Build Program: aimed at engaging girl students from schools in Hyderabad in ’ Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) studies & learning and equipping them with skills for a long run in STEM studies and career.
2. The WE Tech Program: a pre-incubation program with a goal to encourage and engage budding women entrepreneurs in technology-based businesses, in Telangana.
This partnership initiative brings to the girl students & women led tech startups, the opportunity to grow through leveraging resources, receiving mentorship from the leaders at WE HUB and Women in Tech India.
Radhika Iyengar, Country Director, Women In Tech® India said, “Through this program, we hope to enthuse the representation of Girls and Women in STEM studies and technology based ventures. Female representation in STEM is key for fostering innovation, addressing societal challenges, and driving inclusive economic growth especially now when the state and the nation are in pursuit of a digitally driven future. Women In Tech, owing to its community, partnerships and resources can present content, connections, mentorship, visibility and experiential programs for girls and women, in emerging areas including Green Technologies and Responsible AI. One of the experiential activities we convene is a 'Run & Break(fast) event where we introduce handpicked 5 young women aspirants to 5 women leaders in the Digital & Technology Industry, for a long-term mentorship. Our collaboration in these 2 programs can expand the window of opportunities to our girls and women that have enrolled with WE Hub, in a big way. Our vision is to make a deep impact to at least 80 women and girls in technology through these programs”
