Hyderabad: Panel meet for peaceful festivals
Hyderabad: Hyderabad police commissioner Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy urged members of Central Peace and Welfare Committee to maintain peace when preparing for Ganesh Chaturthi and Milad-un-Nabi celebrations. He met members of the panel at Telangana Command Control Centre, Banjara Hills, on Wednesday.
During the meeting, commissioner Sreenivasa Reddy spoke about importance of their continued efforts in preserving the city's reputation and ensuring the successful completion of both festivals.
The committee assured the commissioner of their full support for the festivals and curbing other anti-social activities within the community.
The meeting was attended by senior police officials, including additional CP, L&O, Hyderabad, Vikram Singh Mann, and chairman of the Central Peace and Welfare Committee and additional CP, Traffic, Hyderabad P. Viswa Prasad, DCP, SB, and vice-chairman of the committee S. Chaitanya Kumar, and DCP South Zone and coordinator of the committee Sneha Mehra. Over 350 members of the peace committee and 70 police officers participated in the meeting, according to a press release issued by the city police commissioner.
