Hyderabad police dismisses false info spread about injured youth

Hyderabad: The city police dismissed the rumours that a youth was murder at Rahmathnagar in Madhura Nagar police station limits here on Friday morning saying that the youngster was in a safe condition and he inflicted injuries by himself using a liquor bottle.

In a clarification, Punjagutta Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) S Mohan Kumar said at 7.45 am, the police received a dial-100 call from a caller stating that at Rahmathnagar he found a pool of blood apart from a pair of slippers and a blood-stained cloth. Upon that, the Madhura Nagar police reached the spot and while enquiring with the local people and observing CCTV footage of the surrounding areas, the police spoke to locals.

The locals said that yesterday night between 1.30 am and 2 am, a person named Varshith alias Sonu, 22, a resident of Rahmathnagar hit a quarter liquor bottle with his right leg due to which his blood vein of right foot got cut and while oozing blood he was taken to nearby clinic by his two friends and after treatment, he was taken to his house in Rahmath Nagar.

Then he was shifted to Wellness Hospital, Ameerpet by his mother for better treatment and after that, the injured was brought back home. Without verifying facts, it is being wrongly circulated in the media that it is a case of murder.

The police responded immediately to the call and verified all the facts and circumstances of the incident. It is categorically established that there is no foul play and the victim injured himself accidentally and his condition is stable now, the ACP added.
