How to get a home loan subsidy under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin
Before checking any Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin list, you should first understand the key tenets of the scheme. The PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana)-G (Gramin) was unveiled with an aim towards enhancing the Government’s scheme called Housing for All. The Central Government is targeting major implementation of this scheme by the year 2022. PMAY-G aims at offering pucca houses with basic facilities to eligible people without their own homes and those residing in Kutcha houses or houses which have been damaged severely. The minimum size of homes built under PMAY-G is required to be 25 square meters (this was 20 square meters previously).
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin List and Loan Limit
Eligible beneficiaries in the PMAY list may avail of loans up to Rs. 70,000 from financial institutions along with subsidy on interest at the rate of 3%. The maximum principal amount for the same is capped at Rs. 2,00,000 while the maximum subsidy is Rs. 38,359 for EMI which is payable. The cost of the unit is shared in the ratio of 60:40 between the Centre and State Governments for areas in the plains, i.e. Rs. 1.20 lakh in support for every unit. In Himalayan and northeastern States along with the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, this ratio goes up to 90:10 with up to Rs. 1.30 lakh of support for every unit.
The Centre offers 100% financing in the case of UTs (Union Territories) inclusive of Ladakh. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin list Beneficiaries receive Rs. 90.95 each day in unskilled labor courtesy of MGNREGS. Beneficiaries are also identified via parameters from the SECC (Socio-Economic and Caste Census) and verification is done by the Gram Sabhas. Support is given up to Rs. 12,000 for building toilets under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin (SBM-G) scheme in collaboration with other schemes including MGNREGS. Payments are directly and electronically disbursed to the post office and bank accounts linked with Aadhar.
Eligibility for Availing Loan Under PMAY
The eligibility requirements are the following-
â- Homeless families
â- Those with homes having 0/1/2 rooms with Kutcha Roof and Wall
â- Households without adult male members of 16-59 years
â- Households without literate adults above the age of 25
â- Households without adult members between 16-59 years of age
â- Homes without able-bodied members/with disabled members
â- Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Case, Others and Minorities
â- Landless households earning income from casual labor work
Candidates with motorized 2/3/4 wheelers, fishing boats and agriculture equipment will not be eligible along with those possessing KCC (Kisan Credit Card) with limit higher than/equal to Rs. 50,000. If the household has at least a single member employed with the Government or earning in excess of Rs. 10,000 every month or any individual pays income tax/professional tax or owns a refrigerator/landline phone connection, then eligibility will not be there.

Registration/Adding of Beneficiary
â- Visit the official PMAY-G website.
â- Fill up details needed including mobile phone number, gender and Aadhar number.
â- Upload consent form for using the Aadhar number.
â- Click on Search for finding PMAY ID, beneficiary’s name and priority.
â- Click Select to Register.
â- The details of the beneficiary will be generated and shown automatically.
â- The remainder may be filled up including type of ownership, Aadhar number, relation and so on.
â- You should upload the consent form needed for using an Aadhar number on the beneficiary’s behalf.
â- Add beneficiary account details in necessary fields thereafter including bank account number and name.
â- If the beneficiary wishes to take a loan, choose Yes and enter the required amount.
â- Enter MGNREGA job card number along with SBM (Swachh Bharat Mission) number.
â- The next section will have to be filled up by the officer concerned.
The SECC will help in creating the beneficiary list while these beneficiaries will get priority thereafter once making it to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin list. The list will then be dispatched to Gram Sabhas for verification followed by the creation of the final list and publishing of the same. The annual lists will be created thereafter. This is the entire procedure for obtaining a home under PMAY-G.
