90% from Telangana\'s state-run minority institutions crack Polycet-22

HYDERABAD: Around 90 per cent of the students from Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS) cracked the TS Polycet exams, results of which were announced Wednesday. Of 2,066 aspirants, 1,854 qualified for the exams, comprising 813 boys and 1,041 girls, with respective pass percentages of 87.41 and 91.63.

TMREIS secretary B. Shafiullah said that the students hail from marginalised villages, whose parents work as agricultural labourers, masons, vegetable vendors, auto drivers and daily wagers.

Among the top performers in the MPC stream (engineering diploma) were R. Sai, of TMRS Choutuppal Boys-1, who secured a state rank of 34 and Nizamuddin Anzar of TMRS Nizamabad Boys, who bagged a rank of 324. G. Likhita of TMRS Choppadandi Girls-1 secured a state rank of 38 in the MBPC stream (agriculture diploma) and Sohail Mohammed of TMRS Medchal Boys-1 ranked 68. Minority welfare minister Koppula Eshwar and TMREIS president A.K. Khan congratulated the students and teachers.
