HRDA flays TSMC’s ‘exorbitant’ fee price
HYDERABAD: The Healthcare Reforms Doctors Association (HRDA) has written to the Telangana State Medical Council (TSMC) stating that the fee structure for registration of various medical degrees was considerably higher in Telangana compared to the neighbouring states.
The letter states that the charges as per the revised fee structure notification issued by TSMC for various registrations with effect from July 1 are exorbitant.
For instance, the fee for registration of PG degree is Rs 4,000 in the state, while it is Rs 2,000 in Kerala, Rs 1,000 in Karnataka and just Rs 120 in Maharashtra. The fee for super-specialty registration in Telangana is Rs 7,000, while the prices in other states are the same as that for PG degree registration.
The letter states that such rates will cause a burden on graduates and postgraduates and also lead to commercialisation of the profession. They have urged the TSMC to revoke the revised fee structure.
