Take action against duty-shirking docs: Harish Rao
KARIMNAGAR: During a surprise visit, health minister T. Harish Rao inspected various wards Mother and Child Healthcare Centre (MCHC) in Jagtial district on Saturday.
He, who examined the attendance register, interacted with pregnant women and children in their respective wards and inquired about the medical facilities and services being provided at the hospital.
The minister suggested the patients utilize all types of medical tests being conducted for free in the hospital only for the convenience of patients.
Later, he held a review meeting with the hospital authorities and collector Yasmeen Basha, MLA Sanjay Kumar and ZP person D. Vasantha and directed them to take action against the doctors who were shirking their duties and ensure inconvenience to patients.
The minister said for improved medical facilities in the newly carved out districts, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao sanctioned new hospitals and medical colleges by appointing doctors, professors and equipment on par with super speciality hospitals.
