Hyderabad: 3 Held for Trading Contraband
Hyderabad: Acting on a tip-off, the LB Nagar SOT, along with the Choutuppal police apprehended three youths while they were transporting dry ganja on NH-35, at Pathangi toll within the Choutuppal police station limits on Wednesday.
About 280 kg of dry ganja, two cars and three mobile phones, all worth Rs 8,30,000 were recovered from their possession.
The accused have been identified as - Bhosale Aba Machhindra, Avinash Shivaji Rathod and Siddha Rameshwar Pujari. Bhosale Aba Machhindra and Avinash are both college dropouts. Bhosale was working as a lorry cleaner. The third accused Rameshwar studied till SSC and was working as a driver.
The three hatched a plan to transport and sell dry ganja to make easy money and hence got in touch with Ajay Rathod, a resident of Maharashtra.
Previously, they procured ganja from Alurikota, Alimela Tehsil of Malkangiri district, Odisha and disposed it for higher price and gained huge money.
As per their plan, Ajay Rathod contacted Teja (ganja supplier) and the four mobilised funds and paid money to Teja.
On 23.6.2024, Bhosale, Avinash and Siddha went to Alurikota, from Solapur via Hyderabad in two cars having fake number plates, which were arranged by Ajay Rathod, where Teja arranged the contraband. The three loaded the ganja and left Odisha via Vijayawada - Suryapet - Choutuppal - Hyderabad, (Telangana) - Solapur. At Choutuppal, police apprehended the three accused.
