Group-1 Prelims Will Be Held Tomorrow: HC

Hyderabad: A division bench of the Telangana High Court, comprising Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili and Justice Laxmi Narayana Alishetty, dismissed a writ appeal seeking postponement of the Group-1 preliminary examination scheduled to be held on Sunday.

The bench was not inclined to interfere in the single judge orders, which two days back had refused to postpone the exam.

Challenging the single judge orders, two candidates filed an appeal before the division bench contending that they have to attend an examination for the central intelligence officer post, which is also scheduled for Sunday.

During the hearing advocate general A. Sudershan Reddy informed the court that all arrangements to hold the exam have been made and the two candidates have approached the High Court in the eleventh hour.

After hearing the contentions of the advocate general, the division bench observed that nearly 4,03,646 candidates are appearing for the Group-1 preliminary examination and all the logistic arrangements for holding the exam have been done. Under the circumstances, it is difficult to postpone the examination, the bench said.
