Hyderabad: In separate cases the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) of Secunderabad arrested three persons and seized 80 kg of ganja worth Rs 20 lakh from them.
At the Vikarabad station, RPF sub-inspector K. Shankariah and his team approached two persons travelling with six pieces of luggage. On seeing the team, one of two persons fled. Police detained the other person, Sanjit Kumar Bhuyan, 24, of Odisha and found him carrying 30 two-kg packets of dry ganja, said Shaik Salima, Secunderabad division SP. The duo was carrying ganja from Odisha to Maharashtra for sale.
In a separate case, the GRP team arrested Sunita Sunita Sukhdeo Pimpale and Vibhav who were smuggling 20 kg ganja from AP to Maharashtra, Mahesh Bhagwat,additional DG, railways, said.
