Nandini Karky releases poetry collection
Nandini Karky, wife of Madan Karky, known for his work in films, including Baahubali, as lyricist, screenplay and dialogue writer, has come out with a poetry collection in English titled Sun Seeds.
Nandini’s in-laws Vairamuthu and his wife Ponmani, husband Karky and his brother Kabilan are known for their works in Tamil. So, it came as a surprise that she chose to begin her literary journey in English.
Sun Seeds deals with nature’s beauty and the changes in one’s path, traversing the highs and lows of the mind.
A subtitle specialist, Nandini has worked on projects like Darbar, Sarkar, Yennai Arindhaal, I, Sarvam Thaala Mayam and Thanga Meengal. She says, “The verses are inspired by my life experiences as a student of engineering at Anna University, as a software engineer in the US, and as an avid traveller who has visited all seven continents of the world.” Nandini Karky has been podcasting ‘Sangam Lit’, a song-a-day English interpretation of 2000-year-old Tamil poetry.
