WARANGAL: The Kakatiya rulers have left behind a legacy of architecture. Many structures that can be seen today in Warangal are the finest samples of the architectural talent of Kakatiya rulers and their taste in sculptures and the technology used.

The Kakatiya rule was also the time when a large number of water bodies were built to cater to the needs of the people. Many ponds and wells were built which were used for irrigation and for drinking water needs. Some of these wells are known to be swimming pools of kings and queens of that time.

The Kakatiyan regime lasted from 1000 A.D. to 1323 A.D. But as time passed, these wells and water bodies got encroached and started disappearing into history.
