Foursome is a collection of four short plays with a duration of 90 minutes in Hindi and English. This play surely brings smiles to many faces in the audience. Wondering how? Well, to begin with the fact that this is a comedy play which turned out to be great with a touch of finesse by an eclectic ensemble of actors. Foursome is slated to be staged on December 22 at Lahe Lahe in Indiranagar.
Pritesh Bhandary, director of the play believes comedy is the right tool to make the audience laugh, he shares, “The best way to connect with the audience is through laughter. Getting that smile on their faces is the best response an artiste could get. Using elements like chaos, audience interaction and live music, and introducing some fun elements make the audience laugh hard,” he says.
Pritesh, whose only desire is to make the audience laugh, talks about his pre-production journey and says, “Assembling the cast for this play took a little time, but the team will entertain the audience with their comic timing.”
Tarisha Ramesh who was inspired to enact the role of a small town girl shares, “Every scene brings out a certain emotion and this shapes the play into a cohesive whole. The motivation behind playing the character is the uniqueness in the characterisation- layered, sensitive and full of innocence! The fact that my character has to face the ‘known-unknown’ and the harsh reality of life in the most innocent but strong way is definitely a beautiful aspect of the character!”
Discussing her character further, Tarisha adds, “I would love to play the role of a flirt! In day-to-day life such flirts creep other people out but playing a creep would be a whole different level of fun and challenge!”
Rupesh Sharma who plays the role of a regular guy, shares, “While I’m hanging out with friends at a café, I notice something unusual and I go crazy. This craziness remains a part of my personality till the play ends. The character eventually takes you to a peak level of emotion and that is what I built-up with this play.”
He concludes by adding his personal mantra, “Entertainment! Entertainment! Entertainment! Life is short, enjoy it to the fullest.”
Bhavani Shankar who played roll of and the innocence shares, “The motivation is — there are lot of lonely people in world who keep observing what’s around them but keep it to themselves share it with a confidant, I liked the message that the play portrays that life is simple but people often complicate it. The monologue of another actor and showing the dark side of the innocent characters will be perfectly portrayed.”
